Paris Saint-Germain Edges Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Claim French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now claimed the prestigious trophy on 14 different times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic equaliser followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to overcome Marseille in the Gulf and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions victory.

The Champions League holders seemed to be sailing towards a straightforward triumph in the showdown between the French league winners and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring early on.

Yet, Marseille fired two times in the closing moments to take a shock lead. First, the English forward converted from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable turn of fortune, Goncalo Ramos snatched a crucial equaliser in the final seconds to force the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the hero, stopping crucial attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for PSG to seal a 4-1 shootout win.

The record champions PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now won this competition for the 12th time in the last 13 years.
